R.S.Ravipriyan is a young music director from the Indian Film Industry. He is originally from Thirunelveli, Sathankulam, brought up in Canada. Ravipriyan's grandfather Mr.Balakrishnan is a versatile Carnatic singer who is from Dr.Balamuralikrishna's batch. Ravipriyan's first debut album titled 'kaatru' with a collaboration of 22 top class play back singers from the South Indian Film Industry, released by HMV SAREGAMA, gave him the world class recognition as a composer. It was indeed the first album in the world to have so many singers - all in one. Following which Ravipriyan did music for several albums and Canadian-Tamil movies until he made music for the South Indian Tamil Film 'MEGAM' which played for 100 days at theatres all over Tamil Nadu, and he was awarded by directors Bharathiraja and K.Bagyaraj for his excellent background music. Currently, R.S.Ravipriyan has done music for an english movie called 'THE STRIP MALL 2010' directed by Vinod Venkatraman and the movie has already won the HONOLULU award in Hawaii for best film making. Ravipriyan received the IMDB number for doing the background score for that English movie, which is a number given to only Hollywood Stars and the number will be stored in the Hollywood Artistes' bureau. In the meantime, Ravipriyan is now committed to composing music for a big bannered mega budget HOLLYWOOD PRODUCTIONS Hindi film,directed by SAMMAR, the production of which film is expected to start in the early part of 2011. Simultanoeusly, he is committed to one Tamil movie, directed by Vathilai Raja, assist. of director Cheran and Gangai Ameran. Also, Ravipriyan is working on an album titled ENGE NEE SENDRAAI. India's legendary singer S.P.Bala sang a song titled "NANTHALAALA" in that album and said it was one of the finest songs that he had sung in the last 20 years, and asked permission from Ravipriyan to present that song to the people in Srilanka as a tribute to their war. R.S.Ravipriyan's ultimate musical goal in life is to open his own institution for mentally challenged children and the homeless, and support them through the gift of music God has given him.
